happy friday everyone!
this weekend we will be traveling back to my grandparents' house again for a night of visiting/playing/doing yard work and ... watching HGTV when the boys are asleep of course!

.

we are still hunting for jobs.
and spending lots of time on the free section of craigslist!

man, i think we have hit the jackpot of all cities when it comes to the free stuff people are giving away here!

other than that, it's still days full of park + library visits and little boys playing in laundry baskets with toys strewn all over the living room floor!

.

man i feel like a little kid in the midst of summer. i know that work and school will bring good things like more structure and productivity to our days (oh, and money.) but i'm just not ready to give up the good life yet!

happy friday!

it's friday!

i stumbled across these two sweet brother moments in my photo library, sigh :)

this morning i woke up before anyone, and uncharacteristically decided it would be so nice to just grab the computer and go lay on the couch by myself for a little bit. so i did, but of course after about 1.5 minutes both of my little boys scampered down and joined me. i didn't mind; we just lazed about and ate a bag of "pirate popcorn" together for breakfast. a good start to the day, no?

.

 since then, it's just been an older brother playing with tin foil balls,

a little brother wrestling with mama,

couscous + mangoes for lunch,

feeling thankful for a bathtub that actually drains

(we finally got it fixed after emptying it with buckets for weeks)

and laundry that is actually clean

(our washer is slowly dying and i finally decided to do some laundry at my sister in law's)

ahh.

all the while sorting through things here and there, adding to the garage sale and trash pile.

it is very freeing although i was a little sad to finally pitch the perscription bottles leftover from asher's birth and the paints i used to always use when roman was a baby,

good, good memories. :)

it's friday! and aaron is actually off work today!

so, it has been a pretty good/slightly hectic/slightly lazy day.

a doctor's appointment that didn't happen ... don't ask.

a trip to target to stock up on diapers and wipes.

mcdonalds coffee, then starbucks coffee ... don't judge.

working out for mom + dad.

an ever messy house not getting cleaned and an ever lengthening to-do list never getting done.

.

and now, roman is running full speed through the house chasing dragons and asher is sitting on the table eating strawberries and cheese with toothpicks. 

so, i'd say it's a pretty successful day overall :)

happy friday everyone!

i just got my little asher to sleep and am pretty tired myself and avoiding going back downstairs. he is so sweet, laying next to me with his little hands wrapped around my arm.

today we had our first moving sale! we are hoping to have 3 more days total of moving sales before we leave. we were only open for about 4 hours today and made only 90 dollars, but i'm happy with it. i love having garage sales. seriously, it is so fun to sit out in the sunshine and wait for people to buy your old stuff. and man, do we have a lot of stuff that needs buying...

roman also got his cast put on today. he decided on black + glow in the dark but changed his mind and ended up with orange + glow in the dark ;) 

goodness he's looking big to me right now.

whenever i buy the boys new clothes and they start wearing the size up - they look HUGE to me. and i don't like it! stay little little ones, will you?

i didn't used to like the idea of sharing my professional work on my personal blog. i like to be able to scroll down and just see uninterrupted photos of my boys, my family.
my blog is like a sweet little scrapbook. however, i have realized that my professional photos DO feel personal to me. after i put so much effort and care into them, i feel like i want to share them as many places as i can!

so there's a little preview of some photos i did for my sister's roommate for her graduation. you can see the rest of the photos on my sparse photography blog here.

in other words, today is aaron's last late night shift at his job!
for the year, and maybe, probably, hopefully forEVER!
because in the next eight weeks we are planning to MOVE across the country!
but, more about that later ;)
for today, i need to start cleaning my house since my family is coming to stay the weekend and we are going to celebrate my sister's college graduation!
and right now, my little one is climbing up onto the sink to wash dishes
(his new favorite thing)

today has been

daddy sleeping in after working all night, then getting up + going back to work,

pbs kids + a long baby nap,

tidying + cleaning up broken glass,

eating sweet potato fries while brothers fight in the bath,

a load of laundry in a broken washer, 

and nursing in the 4 o'clock sunshine.

thankful that the worst of the week is over.
and thankful that the worst really wasn't that bad after all ;)
